What happened to scaffolding in South Ireland?
On Friday, a scaffolding platform collapsed in Cork City.
The scaffolding was placed in the middle of the street at the corner of King’s Road and Castle Street, just before the entrance to the Castle Hotel.
A number of people were on the platform when the scaffolding fell.
One person was able to get away and was taken to hospital for treatment.
It is understood that the scaffold was on its way to a different building, which was not affected.
The City of Cork and Cork County Council are investigating the incident.
The city is expected to conduct a full investigation into the incident as it continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the scaffolder’s collapse.
