“The Future of Frame”

With this year’s annual conference in the books, we look back at the year in the video game industry.

“We’re going to be the first company to actually take a look at what it’s going to take to create a next generation console, what it takes to bring a new game to life,” said Brian Fargo, president and chief executive of Epic Games.

“[We’re] going to see how the technology is used in a way that will give the player the freedom and the freedom to experience what’s going on in the game in a whole new way.”

Fargo said that Epic was working on new game features and that a new Unreal Engine 4 engine was in development.

Featuring Unreal Engine 3, Unreal Engine 5, and Unreal Engine 6, Epic’s next-generation platform has a set of capabilities that would allow for a “bigger and more ambitious” game that would also be able to support multiple hardware platforms.

The company said that the next generation of Unreal Engine will be able “take advantage of new hardware capabilities, including the PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio.”

Fargo also said that Unreal Engine developers would be working on a new set of game-specific features that would enable them to “bring more depth and detail to the characters and environments” and create “more compelling experiences.”

With the next-gen console expected to launch in 2017, Epic is expected to be a big part of the game console market moving forward.
