Chimney scaffold accident highlights the dangers of chimney scaffolds

A construction worker was injured by a chimney-shingled scaffolding tube after the scaffolding was hit by a falling scaffold and a fall of about 10 feet.

“A spokesman for the Birmingham City Council said: ‘The incident occurred in a scaffolding area in the city’s Northside, which has been cleared to allow traffic to move.’

The scaffolding is in the process of being replaced.’

We have had no reports of injuries, however we will liaise with the coroner to provide updates.’

The worker’s injuries were not life-threatening, the council said.

A spokesman said: ”We can confirm a scaffold worker has been injured whilst working in Birmingham City Hall.”
